The impact of proposed changes to international student caps will be unevenly spread – with some institutions worse off than others.

Yet the threat of job losses is widespread.

The NTEU is calling on the Minister for Education to ensure that this does not occur. We have delivered over 6000 signatures for no job losses as a result of the changes and will continue to campaign for fair, accountable, better universities.

About the Universities Accord

The Universities Accord is the first major review of higher education policy since 2008 and was announced by Education Minister Jason Clare in November 2022.

The National Tertiary Education Union will fight to ensure any changes stemming from the Universities Accord make higher education sustainable for staff and students.

Public Universities Wage Theft Report

$382,048,628.

The total amount of money so far in identified wage theft across the higher education sector since 2014.

Thanks to brave union members speaking out about stolen wages, our union has been able to win millions of dollars in backpay. We need real change in our universities and that starts with an end to bad governance.
